This Mission was settled nearly 15-miles away from the base of Mission Peak. Following this establishment, which is recorded as the first incident of anyone having settled in the Fremont area, Mission Peak became an icon to the cities Fremont and San Jose, and was later incorporated into the logo of the city of Fremont.
